AMUND KLEPPAN
DRUMMER & COMPOSER
ABOUT
Jazz drummer Amund Kleppan released his debut album Venture in 2019 to international acclaim. With strong ties to his native Norway, he also tours regularly across Europe with Amund Kleppan Quintet, Aloft Quartet and other ensembles.
Since picking up his first pair of drumsticks fifteen years ago in his neighbour’s basement, Amund has been completely hooked. His passion for drumming led him to prestigious institutions: first, the Jazz Institute Berlin where he completed his Bachelor's degree, and then the Royal Academy of Music for his Master's. Studying under renowned musicians like Dave Holland, James Maddren, and Orlando Le Fleming, he developed a strong sound.
Now, having completed his studies, Amund is based in Oslo. He is an active member of the Norwegian jazz scene, playing alongside many of the country's famous jazz artists. His journey from a passionate beginner to a professional drummer is a testament to his dedication and skill.
